My wife, Laura and I celebrated our 18th Wedding Anniversary. We were both Orchestra Violinist with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra at the time, and she thought she was marrying a violinist. Many years later, she became a wife of a conductor, and I am married to a Doctor of Music. We lived in three different countries to date, and we have traveled to many countries together. I remember the first time I took her to Japan, my grandma told me that marriage is a start line and not the end. At that time, I was not sure what she meant, but I realize now that when we got married, it was our start line. Happy 18th!!

私の妻、ローラと18年目の結婚記念日を迎えました。当時は二人ともアーカンソー交響楽団でバイオリン奏者をしていました。ローラはバイオリン奏者と結婚したと思っていましたが10年後には指揮者と一緒になっていました。そして私はバイオリン博士と一緒になっています。今までに3か国に住みたくさんの国々へ旅行へ一緒にいきました。結婚したすぐあと日本へ行ったとき、私の父方の祖母から結婚はスタート地点だよ、といわれました。その時はなんだかわかっていませんでしたが、今思うと結婚した当初はスタート地点だったなと実感しています。18年ありがとう。
